- Configure LoggerNet? on turb.marine.unc.edu to access each system via GlobalStar? Network
- Buoy 1
- Buoy 2
Issues raised during testing:
- modems set for direct dial via ground station for GlobalStar? network -- not static IPs
- analog phone line required
Successfully tested dial-up to Tower system only from analog line (Sara's home phone).
Contacted University Telecommunications. Cost for line analog line to be installed is ~$100 initially, but service is $50/month (with unlimited long distance).
Installing analog line is not a reasonable solution as we can only dial one buoy or system at a time and it will be hard to move (requires additional $100 to move to another telephone port).
Opening new tickets (42 and 43)about service setup and hardware necessary to have static IPs for each GlobalStar? modem.
