Draft plan of work with Navy now includes two towers with wind energy monitoring systems for Navy, in addition to our suite of met and sodar on one tower. We supply the vessel for installations, maintenance and ops.

Ben Wilcox on vacation thru Aug 16-Sep 7. Ben is still working on contract and money to have Navy personnel, Mike Malone, work on Safety Plan with me. As of today, still have not heard from Mike Malone.

Dave Malone and I have spoken together. He will review and make changes to draft safety plan. Key points are getting personnel on and off tower and getting equipment on and off. He will work on revisions Oct 11-15 and have something for Ben by perhaps as early as Oct 25 (?).

Received Navy safety plan. Submitted draft of forms, our Safety Plan and Navy Safety Plan all together to Mary Crabtree at EHS for review.
Still have to fill in details of who is to do work and document proper training and/or qualifications.

Last meeting with Ben Wilcox (Jan 18) to develop plan for use of towers for offshore wind study collaboration with Navy. We are waiting on NAVFAC in Atlantic Region to decide how tower assets will be used. 1. Allow just UNC on for this one study with Navy oversight while on tower. 2. Allow others use and access to towers with Navy oversight. 3. put the the towers up for sale or bid. 4. decommission towers.
